Softball Heads to Louisiana for Six-Game Road Trip

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic softball team will embark on a six-game road trip, beginning with a three-game series against conference leading Louisiana-Lafayette this weekend.
The Owls (13-29, 3-10 Sun Belt) lost two of their three games to Troy last weekend, although they did defeat a group of local Marines 4-3 in a charity fundraiser on Sunday evening. No. 7 Louisiana-Lafayette (38-2, 13-2) will be FAU's first opponent of the trip. The conference leading Ragin' Cajuns swept Middle Tennessee last weekend. All three games of the series will be televised. Saturday's first game begins at 12 p.m. eastern and will be shown live on CSS as part of the Sun Belt Network. Saturday's second game will also be shown on the Sun Belt Network, although on a tape delay basis. Also, both of Saturday's games will be streamed live on ESPN3.com. Sunday's game will be shown in the Lafayette, LA are on station KLAF.
FAU swept last season's regular season series against ULL in Boca Raton, just the second time ever that the Ragin' Cajuns' had been swept in Sun Belt play. ULL got its revenge in the championship game of the Sun Belt Tournament, defeating FAU 8-0 in five innings.
After the series against ULL, FAU will travel to Monroe, LA to face ULM. The Warhawks (18-19, 5-10) beat North Texas twice to take the season series from the Mean Green. FAU won two of three games to win the series. Live stats for all six games will be available on www.fausports.com.
