Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team lost its final home match of the season in a 5-2 decision to nationally ranked Brown University on Wednesday at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton.
The Bears were ranked 55th in the country in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association's national poll.
The loss drops the Owls to 11-7 on the season.
Junior Taylor Albrecht picked up a pair of victories in singles and doubles action. He teamed with freshman Will Neuner at No. 1 doubles to win 8-5. Later, Albrecht dropped only four games to win in straight sets (6-3, 6-1) at No. 1 singles. Albrecht stands 17-1 in singles action this spring.
Freshman Boris Bogomolov also won in straight sets to round out the winners. He won the opening set in a tiebreaker, 7-4, and then won the second set by a 6-2 score.
FAU concluded the home schedule with a 10-5 record. The team returns to the court on Saturday, March 31, in the opening matches of the Sun Belt Shootout in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
