Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team increased its winning streak to five matches with a 7-0 home victory over Oakland University on Wednesday afternoon at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton. The Owls now stand 5-1 on the season.
FAU picked up straight-set victories on all five singles courts. Senior Justine Humair won by identical 6-2 scores at No. 1 singles. Fellow senior Cassie Bergeson picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win at the No. 2 position, while senior Erika Mrazkova won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
Freshman Catalina Ene earned a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 singles, and fellow freshman Natalia Tomaszewicz did not drop a game in picking up a win at No. 5 singles.
Humair teamed with freshman Taylor Briggs to win 8-2 at No. 2 doubles before juniors Natalia Basma and Natasha Phillips were victorious by an 8-5 decision to anchor the singles lineup.
FAU returns to the court on Saturday, February 25, at noon when it battles Georgia Southern University.
