Jacksonville, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team picked up its sixth spring victory with a 7-0 win over Jacksonville University on Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville. The Owls, now 6-2 for the season, won on eight of the nine courts, including all six singles matches.

The win came after suffering a 6-1 to the University of North Florida on February 18. "We had a positive response from yesterday," said Brandon Stokes, FAU's head men's tennis coach. "We started fast in doubles and were able to finish the doubles' point, which was important for us being victorious on the road."

FAU grabbed early momentum by winning the doubles point. Freshmen Sean Bacha and Chris Janssen clinched the point with an 8-6 triumph at the No. 1 position. Freshmen Will Neuner and Robert Dubuque posted a 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles.

The Owls carried the momentum into singles play, winning the first set on four of the six matches. Junior Taylor Albrecht picked up a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles by a 6-3, 6-2 score, and Janssen also earned a 6-2, 7-6 (1) triumph at the No. 2 position. Other winners were Neuner, by identical 6-4 scores at No. 3 singles; freshman Boris Bogomolov, a three-set victor 5-7, 7-6 (1), 1-0 (4) at No. 4 singles; freshman Garrett Betsarakis, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles; and Bacha, in three sets 6-7 (2), 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.

FAU returns to the court on Sunday, February 26, at noon when it battles in-state rival UCF at Patch Reef Park, 2000 West Yamato Road in Boca Raton.
