DENTON, TX - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost a tough five set match (25-13, 17-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-12) to North Texas on Sunday.
The Owls' (3-11, 0-2 Sun Belt) proved to be the determining factor in each set, as the Owls hit .273 and .214 in the two sets they won, but had negative hitting percentages in each of the three sets that they lost.
After the two teams split the first four sets, the fifth set featured seven ties. The last tie came at 12, after the Owls rallied to tie the score. However, North Texas (10-7, 1-1) scored the next three points to clinch the match. Darija Sataric had a team high 11 kills and Madison Lang had her third double-double (32 assists, 10 digs) in four matches on the day.
FAU hosts Middle Tennessee in its Sun Belt home opener at 6:30 p.m.
