Tampa, FL - Winning three of its four completed matches, Florida Atlantic University men's tennis players finished strong in Sunday's final day of the State of Florida Championships.
The doubles tandem of junior Taylor Albrecht and freshman Will Neuner won a pair of matches to advance to the semifinals before weather delayed action for the third consecutive day. The team defeated a Florida Gulf Coast University team, 8-4, before edging a duo from Florida State University through a tiebreaker, 11-9, in the quarterfinal round.
In singles, freshman Sean Bacha dropped two games in picking up his first collegiate career victory with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over FGCU's Steve Binninger.
The Owls will return to the court next weekend when they compete in the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
