BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team had their second game of the season against Florida International University in Miami. The teams fought it out but neither could pull away from the game with a win after the 1-1 tie.
It was FIU that started the game strong offensively and put the first ball in the back of the net. Quentin Albrecht was able to get the ball past FAU goalkeeper Jeremy Crumpton to score FIU's goal in the 10th minute of the game.
The Owls were able to score an equalizer 13 minutes later in the 23th minute of the game to tie FAU up with FIU 1-1. Lukas Simons scored FAU's only goal of the night off of a pass from Darnell King. This is Simons' second goal of the season.
The two teams fought the rest of the match to score another goal but neither team was able to finish any of their shots. FAU is now 1-0-1 and will next take on James Madison at 7:00 p.m. in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.
