FAU Men's Soccer Releases 2011 Schedule

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team has announced their schedule for the 2011 season.
The Owls will start their 2011 schedule with three exhibition matches, hosting two at home versus Lynn University (Aug. 18) and Nova University (Aug. 20) with the third being away at Barry University (Aug. 22). The team will go on to play 10 games from Aug. 26-Sept 25. with four being at home against Jacksonville (Sept. 9), Stetson (Sept. 11), Howard (Sept. 23) and against Marshal (Sept. 25), before beginning conference play.
Mid America Conference play will begin against Hartwick College on Sept. 30 in Oneonta, NY and end against defending national champions Akron in Boca Raton, FL on Nov. 6. The Owls will host two other MAC games against Western Michigan on Oct. 8 and on Oct. 29 against the University of Buffalo.
Under FAU head men's soccer coach, Kos Donev, who will be entering his 26th season with the team, the Owls will be returning all of their captains from the previous season. Amongst returners will be Darnell King who will be entering his senior and final season with FAU. King has been a stand out ever since joining the team his freshman year in 2008. As a sophomore King was named to the NSCAA All-Region team and in 2010 received Mid-America Conference Second Team All-Conference honors. The Owls will look to King to help them improve upon their 5-9-2 overall record from 2010.
