BOCA RATON, FL - Breana Turner scored 17 points and Vontrice Dennis added 10 as the Florida Atlantic women's basketball team defeated Troy 66-59 on Wednesday night.

The Owls (7-19, 4-11 Sun Belt) trailed 10-6 early in the first half, but scored the next 12 points to take a 18-10 lead. FAU closed the half on a 12-3 run to head to the locker room up 36-20.

The Trojans (5-23, 2-13) got the lead into single digits with 15:00 remaining but an Owl scoring run pushed the margin back to 16 and Troy never seriously threatened again.

Lyrell Barfield scored eight points in her final home game as an Owl and FAU secured the East's 5th seed for the upcoming Sun Belt tournament.
