DENVER, CO - Jordan McCoy took advantage of his first start in more than a month, scoring 12 points and grabbing five rebounds, but the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team lost to Denver 69-42 on Thursday night.
An 8-0 Pioneer (12-12, 8-3 Sun Belt run pushed the lead to 10 and a Chase Hallam three gave Denver a 34-21 halftime lead.
The Owls (18-8, 10-2) were unable to mount a serious threat in the second half, as the deficit never got below 10. The loss is the first of the season in Sun Belt play. FAU returns to Boca Raton on Saturday to host Louisiana-Lafayette.
