Rose Gressley Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

BOCA RATON, FL - Junior pitcher/first baseman Rose Gressley was named Sun Belt Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Gressley went 4-for-5 in the Owls' two games against FIU over the weekend. In FAU's 4-3 win on Friday night in Boca Raton, she went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored including her first career homerun. She had a two-run double in her only at-bat on Saturday at FIU before leaving the game due to injury.

It is the second week in a row that an FAU player was named Sun Belt Player of the Week. Blair Bodenmiller received the honor last week after going 7-for-10 against Middle Tennessee. The Owls will take part in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament this week in Mobile, AL.

The fourth-seeded Owls will face tournament host and fifth seed South Alabama at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Live stats and live audio of the game will be available at fausports.com.
