BOCA RATON, FL - Kathryn Stauffer threw a complete game two-hitter in the Florida Atlantic (11-9) softball team's 1-0 win over Michigan State (4-12) on Monday night.

After walking the first batter of the second inning, Stauffer retired 17 straight Spartan batters before Jessica Bracamonte hit a single with two outs in the seventh. Jayme O'Bryant grounded to short to end the game.

Diandra Fernandez hit an RBI single to drive in Kirstin Austin for the game's only run. The Owls begin Sun Belt play on Wednesday when they host Western Kentucky for a doubleheader. The first game will start at 6 p.m. and live stats and audio of the game will be available at fausports.com.
