Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic men's soccer team fell 2-0 in their season opener to UNC-Wilmington on Friday night at FAU Soccer Stadium. FAU received shots from Darnell King and Rocco Peccora and goalkeeper Ciro Martinez tallied two saves in the loss.
The Seahawks jumped ahead 1-0 in the 6th minute when Shawn Guderian connected on a header that snuck inside the left corner. UNC-Wilmington extended their lead further in the first half when Daniel Roberts deflected in a shot from teammate Brian Harrison in the 28th minute to put the Seahawks ahead 2-0.
The Owls will have the weekend off before getting back into action on Monday night at home against Florida Gulf Coast University at 7 pm.
