DENTON, TX - Florida Atlantic lost to Western Kentucky 6-0 on Friday.
The Owls fell behind early in the game, as Rose Gressley gave up two runs in the first inning. WKU added runs in the fifth and sixth innings, before tacking on two more in the seventh. FAU had the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh, but Kerri Croney popped to second to end the game.
Carrie Anne Potter went five innings in relief of Gressley. Becky Brandies went 2-for-3 in the loss for FAU.
The Owls will play Western Kentucky again on Saturday, 30 minutes after the conclusion of the FIU vs. Louisiana-Lafayette game, at approximately 12:30 p.m. eastern. The two winners will then move on to face each other in the Championship Game at 4 p.m. The Championship game will be televised on CSS.
