Softball Drops Game, Series to MTSU

MURFREESBORO, TN (April 26, 2009) - Middle Tennessee used a late rally to take a 5-2 win over Florida Atlantic on Sunday.
FAU (26-27, 9-12 Sun Belt) broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the sixth when Amber Barton drove in Blair Bodenmiller to give the Owls a 2-1 lead. MTSU was able to score four runs in the bottom of the sixth behind three defensive miscues by the Owls.
Caitlyn Bliss went 2-for-2 at the plate and Kat Stauffer went six innings without allowing an earned run in taking the loss.
The Owls finish their seven game road trip on Friday when they travel to Miami to face rival FIU. The game starts at 6 p.m. Live stats will be available via GameTracker at www.fausports.com.
