BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University softball team split its two games on Friday night.
In their first game, FAU (12-10) lost to Central Michigan 1-0 in its first game of Day One of the Miken Classic on Friday.
An FAU fielding error allowed the only run of the game to score in the top of the sixth inning. CMU starter Kim Campbell went the distance, allowing only one hit in the win.
The Owls defeated Columbia 6-1 in their second game of the day. Two balks allowed FAU to score two runs as part of a three-run fourth inning that blew the game open. Amber Barton went the distance for her second win of the season.
FAU returns to action on Saturday at the Miken Classic when they face Stony Brook and Towson at 6 and 8 p.m. respectively. Live stats of the game will be available via GameTracker at fausports.com.
