Women's Tennis Falls in Rain Shortened Match

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's tennis team began play 10 a.m. Sunday morning but it wasn't early enough to beat the south Florida rain that shortened the match with the University of Louisiana-Lafayette winning 4-0.
Doubles play began first with ULL taking each of the three matches. The two teams moved into singles with Dominique Wimmer falling at no. 1. Erika Mrazkova played no. 4 singles and was upended 6-1, 6-4. The final and match clinching point came at no. 5 singles with Virginia Augustin being defeated 6-1, 6-4.
Natalia Totevska dropped her first set 5-7 in an unfinished match at no. 2 as did Danielle Simone who was trailing 4-6, 1-3 before it was called and finally Emmay Rossiter was up 6-2, 4-4 at no. 6.
FAU will next travel to Jacksonville where they will face the University of North Florida April 9, 2009.
