BOCA RATON, FL - Trishauna Clarke ran conference best times in both the 100 and 200 meters at the UCF Invitational. Clarke's times in both events (100m/11.91, 200m/24.05) are the best by a Sun Belt athlete so far this season. Freshmen Susan Chisholm (24.33/10th) and Jessica Smith (24.34/11th) also best the previous conference standard in that event and qualified them for this summer's Junior Olympics.
Barbara Fronrath's win in the 10,000 meters was her third event title in as many meets, and her time set a personal record. Fronrath won the 5,000 meters at the FAU Twilight Invitational and the Hurricane Invitational. She also placed fifth in the 1,500 meters at this weekend's meet, setting another personal record in the process.
Kerry Ann Stewart, Susan Chisholm, Brandi Prather and Sylvia Semokwicz took places 4-8 in the 400 meters. Patricia Gumbs, Charlene Luxama, and Toni Jackson took third through fifth place in the 800 meters.
FAU will a split squad to next weekend's Florida Relays.
