Owls Defeat Rain and Cleveland State 4-2

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's men's tennis team waited out a four hour rain delay in an effort to pick up their 13th win of the season with a 4-2 victory over Cleveland State University.
The Owls were originally scheduled to play at 2 p.m. and actually began the match at 6 p.m. The two teams decided to forego the doubles matches, unless needed to decide the match.
Both Daniel Vardag and Joshua Scholl made quick work of their singles matches with Vardag's 6-4, 6-3 win on court two and Scholl's 6-4, 6-3 victory on court four. The remaining four matches were close. Lawrence Harradine took his match on court three to pick up the third point of the match at 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
On courts five and six, senior Eddie Majcher fell 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-4 and Alex Trif, who played just his third dual match of the season lost on court six 3-6, 7-6(6), 6-4.
The remaining point was decided on court one where Marc Abdelnour moved to 16-1, in dual match play, with a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 win. FAU finished play just after 10 p.m.
FAU will next travel to Orlando where the team will face Mississippi at a neutral site, 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 25.
