BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University softball teams used a stellar effort by starting pitcher Amber Barton to defeat Rutgers University 3-1 on Saturday night.

Barton gave up just five hits, throwing her second complete game of the season in picking up the win. FAU trailed until the bottom of the sixth inning when hits by Blair Bodenmiller and Barton, along with a Rutgers error allowed the Owls to take the lead 3-1.

Barton retired the Scarlet Knights in order in the seventh to seal the win.

FAU wraps up action in the Parents' Weekend Tournament on Sunday when they play Bethune-Cookman. The game starts at 3 p.m. and live stats of the game will be available via GameTracker at www.fausports.com.
