LAS VEGAS, NV - The Florida Atlantic University softball team won its final game of the Eller Media Stadium Classic, defeating UNLV 5-4.
Ambar Jones singled in Kerri Croney and Rose Gressley to put the Owls (11-9) up 2-1 in the second inning. FAU added three runs in the third on a two-run double by Amber Barton and a Rebel fielding error.
UNLV pulled within a run after scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth, but wouldn't get any closer as FAU held on to win.
FAU returns home on Friday to host Columbia and Central Michigan as part of the Miken Classic.
