BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost to Troy in three sets (24-26, 17-25, 20-25) on Saturday.
The Owls (4-14, 3-7 Sun Belt) and Trojans were locked in a tug-of-war for most of the first set and FAU actually had a set point at 24-23, but Troy rallied to take the next three points and win the set 24-26. Troy rode the momentum of that comeback to get out to a big lead in the second set, eventually winning 17-25.
FAU had a five-point lead 15-10 in the third set, but couldn't hold on, losing the third set by a score of 20-25. Krystena Castro had nine kills to pace the Owls.
FAU hosts Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday in its final nonconference match of the season. The match will start at 7 p.m.
