Softball Begins Defense of Sun Belt Tournament Title

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's softball team will attempt to successfully defend it 2007 Sun Belt Tournament title on Wednesday, May 7 against No. 7 seed Louisiana-Monroe at 11 a.m in Troy, Alabama.

The game was originally scheduled for 1:30 p.m. The Owls began a seven-game winning streak by sweeping the regular season series with the Warhawks in Monroe, Louisiana.

The Owls won the regular season title last season and were the No. 1 seed. FAU won five games in a row to win last year's tournament after losing its first-round game. This year, Head Coach Joan Joyce's squad will be the second seed, behind regular season champion and No. 1 seed Louisiana-Lafayette.
