Florida Atlantic University Women's Head Basketball Coach Chancellor Dugan has announced that two more players have signed national letters of intent to play for FAU next season.
"We are very excited about whom we have coming in," said Dugan. "We think we have met all our needs in this class. The two junior college guards that we just signed will come in and compete for starting spots. All the players that we signed are looking forward to helping us win the Sun Belt Conference."
The Owls signed guard Brittany Brown from Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas. Brown scored more than 1,000 points in her two years at Labette and was named first team All-Jayhawk conference this past season. She averaged 15 points, five rebounds and five assists per game last season in leading Labette to a 24-6 record.
"Brittany Brown is an explosive guard off the dribble who can create her own shot," said Dugan. "She can play all the guard spots and has an excellent three-point range."
FAU also signed guard Candace Lambert from Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. Lambert was named first team all-conference her freshman and sophomore seasons. She started all 62 games at Howard College, scoring 738 points in her career while leading her team to a 25-7 record last season.
"Candace Lambert is a shooting guard who is deadly coming off of screens," said Dugan. "She runs the floor well and can finish off the fast break." The two new players join guard Teri Stamps (Vincent High School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin), forward Breana Turner (De La Salle High School, New Orleans, Louisiana) and center Jessica Knurick (Seminole Community College/Oakland University) who signed letters of intent back in November.
