CORAL GABLES, FL - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost to the University of Miami Hurricanes in three sets on Tuesday night. UM also swept the Owls on September 20 in Boca Raton.
The Owls (9-7, 2-2 Sun Belt) fell behind early in the first set, as the Hurricanes (15-2, 3-2 ACC) took control on their way to a 25-13 win. The score was tied at nine in the second set, before Miami pulled away and won the set by another 25-13 margin. FAU led by as many as five points in the third set before UM rallied to tie the set at 17, then used an 8-2 run to clinch the set and the match.
Anne Vaughan Erfurt, Germany had four kills and four block assists on the night for the Owls. FAU will resume Sun Belt on Friday when they host North Texas at 7 p.m.
