BOCA RATON, FL - Casey LaRocca became the first player in program history to garner 4,000 career assists, but the Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost to rival Florida International University in three sets (15-25, 16-25, 24-26) on Tuesday night.
FAU (10-11, 3-6 Sun Belt) put up a good fight against the Eastern Division leading Golden Panthers (18-4, 8-1 SBC), but were unable to pull off the upset.
Krystena Castro led the Owls with eight kills and Anne Vaughan posted a team high .333 hitting percentage. FAU returns to the court on Friday night when they face Arkansas State in Jonesboro.
