BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's cross country team will compete at the Notre Dame Invitational this weekend.
The women finished fourth at the FSU Invite behind the efforts of sophomore Friederike Feil and senior Barbara Fronrath. The duo have been FAU's best two runners all season and are expected to continue that trend this weekend.
The men's team finished 6th at the FSU Invite, led by Kyle Butler, who finished 11th overall. The men have shown rapid improvement since the beginning of preseason practice, and this event will provide a guide as to just how much progress they have made.
The women's field features nine nationally ranked squads including Michigan, Illinois and Providence. The men's field includes 10th ranked North Carolina State. Five schools, including host Notre Dame have both their men and women's squad ranked nationally. In all, 15 teams that are among the top-30 in the nation will be competing at the meet.
Due to the size of the meet, the teams will be split up in two divisions according to gender. Both the men's and women's teams will be in the blue division. The women's blue division race will begin at 2 p.m., with the men's blue division to follow at 2:45 p.m.
