Owl Trio Continue Softball Careers

BOCA RATON, FL - After a successful inaugural season in the Sun Belt Conference, the Florida Atlantic University softball team has had three seniors join other organizations.
Jen Musillo signed a contract with the Washington Glory of the National Fastpitch League, Mandie Fishback joined the Stratford Brakettes, and Jenna Lopez earned a spot on the Puerto Rican National Team.

Fishback joins FAU alum Candice Freel of the Brakettes. Fishback burst onto the scene with three hits, including a grand slam, in her first game as a member of the Brakettes, while driving in six. Freel tossed a shutout in her first appearance of 2007, striking out nine. Freel is now 6-0 on the year, and Fishback leads the team with three home runs and is among the team leaders in batting average. Follow Fishback and the rest of the Brakettes at Brakettes.com.

The Owls, with the help of Musillo, Fishback and Lopez, won the Sun Belt Conference regular and postseason title in 2007 and posted a 42-23 record. The program, with the help of former players such as Piper and Freel, has never won fewer than 33 games in a season.
