BOCA RATON, FL - Olivier Sajous pulled within one victory of tying Florida Atlantic University's single season victory record with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Joris DeWeerdt as the Owls top Georgia Southern 6-1, on Friday.
FAU swept the doubles matches to earn the first point of the day.
"I was pleased with the way we came out focused and took care of business in doubles," said FAU head coach David Komie. "Doubles play is something we focused on this week. I hope we can continue this type of play when we face no. 65 UCF tomorrow."
Following the doubles point, FAU swept the first five matches coming off. The final match of the day was a long hard fought match at no. 3.
The Owls will return to the court noon Saturday when FAU plays host to no. 65 ranked UCF at Patch Reef Park.
