Florida Atlantic University softball coach Joan Joyce announced the signing of two new players who will enroll at FAU in Fall 2008.
FAU signed pitcher Carrie Ann Potter from Stratford High School in Stratford, Connecticut. Potter has started three years for Stratford and has a 36-23 record with a 1.67 ERA. She has racked up 635 strikeouts in 402 innings and led her team into both the SWC and Connecticut Class M state tournaments.
"Carrie is going to add depth to our pitching staff," said Joyce.
FAU also signed infielder Joshlyn Martinez from Coral Glades High School in Coral Springs. Martinez plays second base, shortstop and third base for Coral Glades. She has competed both on the Davie Power 18 and under AAU team in Fort Lauderdale, and internationally on the Dominican Republic National Team.
"Joshlyn is going to help us in our middle infield," said Joyce. "With a couple of our players graduating, she has the chance to step in and play right away."
