Track Team Gives Strong Showing at UNC Invitational

Florida Atlantic University's track team competed at the UNC Invitational over the weekend.
The Owls continued their tradition of performing well at the meet by placing in the top-10 in eight events after setting seven school records at last year's meet.
FAU began the meet by winning the distance medley relay on Friday night in a time of 12:36.56 beating second-place College of Charleston by almost 15 seconds. Trishauna Clarke was able to follow up her great start to the indoor season by finishing seventh in the 60 meter dash in 7.72 seconds. Clarke also finished fourth in the 200 meter dash in a time of 25.32 seconds.
Barbara Fronrath set a personal record of 19:29.55 while finishing fourth in the 5,000 meters. Yanique Booth broke her own school record in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.56 in the preliminaries. Friederike Feil was the standout individual performer for the Owls, finishing sixth in the 800 meters, third in the mile and was a part of the winning distance medley relay team.
FAU will next travel to Boston to take part in the Boston University Invitational on February 10.
