Boca Raton, FL - Florida Atlantic University Head women's golf coach Joan Joyce has announced the signing of Taylor Bruno for the 2007-08 season. The Loxahatchee, FL native brings experience at both the high school and junior golf level.
"Taylor is a very good player, a 2-handicapper," said Joyce. "She should fit right into our lineup at the two, three or four position as soon she joins the program."
Bruno has put up impressive numbers at the high school level. At Royal Palm Beach High School, which she attended her first two years, Bruno led the squad to a state tournament berth her sophomore season. After joining Seminole Ridge High School in 2005, she shot a 69 in the district championships and won the districts in 2006 with a 73 shooting effort. Bruno has been a member of the All-Conference team all four years.
At the junior golf level she has accumulated several honors. She was the 2004 Junior Golf Foundation of America Player of the Year. Bruno earned the 2005 Jack Nicklaus Jr. Championship in 2005 and was also the Okeeheelee Jr. series Player of the Year in both 2005 and 2006.
Bruno attends Seminole Ridge Community High School in Loxahatchee, FL where she is coached by Stacey Critchlow. She will join a team next year that will return six players including: June Bolme, Karine Bolme, Kimberly D'Andrea, Gina Larsen, Jennifer Norton, and Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn.
