The Florida Atlantic University track team will look to continue last season's success as they move to the Sun Belt Conference.
Last year was arguably the best in school history and the Owls will attempt to repeat that history in their first two indoor meets. The indoor season begins in Gainesville as the Owls compete in the Florida Intercollegiates. The Owls set six school records at last year's meet.
FAU then travels to Chapel Hill to take part in the UNC Invitational, where they set seven school records, before heading to the Boston University Invitational on February 10. The Owls will then make their way to Arkansas State, to take part in their first Sun Belt Conference Championships. The Owls finished second at last year's Atlantic Sun Conference Championships and will attempt to match that success in their new conference.
FAU will be led by junior Trisha Doyle and sophomore Krystena Castro. Doyle, who is also one of FAU's top cross country runners, broke the school record in the 5,000 meters twice last season. Castro, who doubles as a member of the FAU volleyball team, also broke a school record twice last season, setting a new mark in the shot put on two separate occasions.
The Owls open the season at the Florida Intercollegiates on January 13.
