Greensboro, NC - Florida Atlantic University's women's track team ran the final day at the NCAA East Regional and like the song professes, they saved the best for last with a 4X400 relay time of 3:44.70.
"They ran a season best in the relay," Alex Smolka, FAU's head coach, said. I was especially pleased for Jian (Jones) and Marilyn (Stephens) who ran well in their last race wearing an FAU uniform."
The team of Marilyn Stephens, Jian Jones, Lindsey Glover and Malika Clary ran a 3:44.70 and finished fourth in their session. Once the three sessions were complete, around 9:45 p.m., Miami had the top time of 3:30.01 and FAU finished 18th.
The Owls will return in the fall to have an outdoor track nearly complete allowing them to practice on campus for the first time. The team will also usher in their second full season of indoor track and a transition into the Sun Belt Conference.
