GAINESVILLE, FL - Jen Musillo (Tequesta, Fla.) threw another solid outing as Florida Atlantic University fell to the University of South Florida on Saturday afternoon 1-0 in the second round of the NCAA Softball Regional at Florida Softball Stadium in Gainesville.
Musillo (12-8), making consecutive starts on back-to-back days for the first time this season, allowed the game's only run on a Christie Chapman home run to lead off the fourth. She struck out five and did not walk a batter while allowing three hits.
Shauna Corso (Seal Beach, Calif.) had two hits in the game - a double in the first and a single in the fourth. Florida Atlantic had runners reach second base in the first, third and fourth innings but could not capitalize on the threats.
Florida Atlantic (34-24) is back in action Saturday evening at 5:00 against the winner of the North Carolina-Florida elimination game, scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
