Booth Leads Owls at Hurricane Invite

CORAL GABLES, FL - Yanique Booth won the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.02 to lead the Florida Atlantic University women's track team at the Hurricane Invite on Saturday.
Booth was participating in her first meet of the 2006 outdoor season and for the first time since injuring her hamstring in the 200m championship at the Atlantic Sun Indoor Championship Meet on Feb. 18. The mark is the fastest recorded in the A-Sun to this point in the outdoor season.
Several other Owls improved their season-best times, including Malika Clary's time of 12.16 in the 100m, shaving nearly four tenths of a second off her season best time. Clary also set a season-best mark in the 200m with a time of 24.51.
Marilyn Stephens also improved her 200m (24.82) and 400m (56.00) times, and both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams improved their best times.
The Owls will return to practice before taking part in the FSU Relays hosted by Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL from March 23-25.
