Jacksonville, FL - Missy Glaser and Shontavia Williams combined for 34 points to lead Florida Atlantic University to a 76-69 victory over the University of North Florida on Saturday afternoon. FAU (14-9, 13-3 A-Sun) is now 10-0 when eclipsing the 70-point plateau.
The Owls built an 18-9 advantage over the Ospreys, but UNF went on a 10-2 run to make the score 20-19 with 6:15 remaining in the first half. FAU led 30-29 at the 2:54 mark and scored eight of the final 11 points in the half to hold a 38-32 lead at the break.
Cristal Randolph stayed hot, depositing three triples in the opening stanza and Missy Glaser added 10 of her 16 points in the first 20 minutes of action.
Breana Cox had three blocks and FAU recorded seven of its 12 steals in the first half.
FAU came out of the locker room scorching hot to build a 54-40 lead at the 13:29 mark, as Glaser connected on one of her three triple-hits in the game.
Andrea Dill cut the lead to six, 60-54, as she connected on two of her game-high 19 points with 6:28 left in regulation. The Ospreys got within two, 68-66, as Dill drained a pair of charity tosses with 1:10 remaining,
Williams cashed in on a three-point play to give the Owls a 70-66 lead with 49 seconds left in the game and finished 18 points. The Owls hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final minute to preserve the win.
Brittney Crenshaw scored 11 points and ripped down a career-high eight rebounds for the Owls and Shuteamia Brayboy dished out six assists on the afternoon.
Jackie Beik scored 15 points and Jennifer Bowen added 12 of her own for the Ospreys.
The Owls will return home to FAU Arena Thursday, Feb. 23 to host the Bulldogs of Garnder-Webb. Tip-time is set for 7:00 p.m. and tickets can be purchased by calling 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
