The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team will head to Washington D.C. this Saturday to do battle with Georgetown University.
The Hoyas are another tough opponent on the Owls' schedule, which is the 27th toughest in the nation, according to RealtimeRPI.com.
"The way we've played, I really think we're ready to break through and have a quality win," said Head Coach Chancellor Dugan. "It's disheartening to lose games, but it's encouraging that the kids keep coming back every day."
FAU had a hard fought 85-76 loss to Western Kentucky this past Saturday. The Owls trailed by only one entering halftime and were within five points entering the final minute. Senior Mistoria Brown had a team-high 27 points and nine rebounds in the victory. Florida Atlantic out-rebounded the Hilltoppers 43-32.
Georgetown (6-2) has won six consecutive games, including a 65-56 win over American University on Saturday. The Hoyas are led by Junior Kieraah Marlow with 18 points-per-game on 51.1 percent shooting. Junior Aminata Diop has a team-high 8.2 rebounds-per-game and adds 9.3 points-per-game.
The Owls are 0-2 all-time against Georgetown. The last time the two teams met the Hoyas defeated FAU, 71-62, at home last year.
