Estero, FL -- Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn paced Florida Atlantic University with a second-place finish in the season opening outing at the FGCU Invitational this past weekend at the Miramar Lakes Golf Club in Estero, FL.
Phol-Uayporn (72-71, 143) finished tied for first with Florida Gulf Coast University's Heather Hagerman (72-71, 143) and the winner was determined in a one-hole playoff. On a par four Hagerman sunk a birdie to take the victory.
FAU (312-318, 630) finished the two-day event sixth out of nine teams. Florida Southern (298-302, 600) was the team winner, boasting three players with top 15 finishes.
June Bolme (73-82, 165) shot one-over par in the first round and finished the tournament tied for 17th. Sandi MacDougall (86-80, 155) started her season with a 32nd place finish.
In their first collegiate performances, freshmen Jennifer Norton (83-85, 166) and Gina Larsen (84-92, 176) finished 34th and tied for 39th respectively.
FAU is back in action on Monday October 16, when they head to Fort Myers, FL to compete in the GSU/Lady Panther Invitational.
