On Saturday morning, Florida Atlantic University's swimming and diving teams competed at Florida International University between rain showers. The women's team defeated FIU 226-70, while both the men's and women's teams fell to Florida State University. Geni Burts and Lauren Shue both picked up two individual wins for FAU.
In the first individual event of the day, Shue (Fort Myers, FL) took the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:00.46. Burts (Pembroke Pines, FL) followed in the next women's event to win the 200-yard freestyle ahead of FSU's Tiffany Elias in 1:51.88.
The Owls made it three-for-three in individual events as Lindsey Alexander (Fort Myers, FL) posted a time of 58.64 in the 100 backstroke to win the race.
Shue recovered from her mile swim to win the 500 free by almost four second with a time of 5:00.62. In the final individual event of the meet, Burts swam a time of 4:27.45 to win the 400 IM.
In the 200 breaststroke, Ellie Weberg (Bloomington, MN) finished more than two seconds ahead of the next swimmer in 2:16.37 to take first place. On the men's side, Eren Onurlu won the 50 free with a time of 21.40.
In the diving events, the Owls picked up three top-three finishes. Andrew Scully (Satellite Beach, FL) took third in the three meter event with a score of 233.10, while Lisa Thompson (Livonia, MI) paced the women with a second place finish in the three-meter (242.95) and third in the one-meter (213.00)
