Petry Named Defensive Player of the Week

After picking up 16 blocks in two matches, including a career-high 11 against UALR, Florida Atlantic University's Justine Petry was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week. The middle blocker from Trumansburg, NY is averaging 1.71 blocks per game in her last five matches.
In Friday's match against UALR, Petry finished with seven solo blocks and four block assists to up her career high of 10, set October 7th against North Texas. Against the Trojans Petry also posted 15 kills.
On the season, the junior has amassed 80 blocks (1.14 blocks per game) and is ranked third in conference play with 1.42 blocks per game.
The Owls return home after four-straight contests on the road to host Middle Tennessee on Friday and Western Kentucky on Saturday. The two teams are currently first and second in the league. FAU faced the two squads earlier this season and lost to Middle Tennessee in three games and Western Kentucky in four.
