Petry Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

Justine Petry guided Florida Atlantic University to a 3-0 week in Sun Belt Conference action and was named the league's Player of the Week for her efforts. The Owls have won their last four matches and seven of their last nine.
A junior from Trumansburg, NY, Petry hit .461 in three matches and finished with 40 kills (4.00 kills per game) and a team-high 11 blocks (1.10 blocks per game). Against Troy on Saturday, the middle blocker finished with a season-high 20 kills, one shy of her career-high. She finished with a .514 hitting percentage after only committing two errors in 35 attempts as FAU improved to 7-8, 4-1 Sun Belt.
Against New Orleans last Monday, the middle blocker finished with a season-high six blocks.
For the season, she leads the team with a .352 hitting percentage and 37 blocks while ranking third on the squad with 111 kills. Her hitting percentage ranks her second in the league.
The Owls host Florida International on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. before Denver and North Texas visit on Friday and Saturday.
