GAINESVILLE, FL -- Raynell Hagberg fell just short of an NCAA nationals qualifying mark and Malika Clary set an indoor school record in the 200m as the Florida Atlantic University track team continued its indoor season on Saturday at the Gator Invitational in Gainsville, FL.
Clary's time of 25.37 won her heat, and was the 13th best out of 34 competitors, while Hagberg's time of 2:10.74 is the tops ran by an Atlantic Sun athlete thus far in 2006.
The distance medley relay team comprised of Hagberg, Jian Jones, Artemis Saridakis, and Christina Dutko also set an indoor school record with a time of 12:21.49 and a third-place finish.
Trisha Doyle also had a strong meet, posting one of the school's best indoor efforts in the 3,000m with a time of 10:23.19.
The Owls continue their indoor trek Feb. 4 at North Carolina for the Carolina Invitational. It will be their last chance to sharpen their skills prior to the A-Sun's indoor championship meet.
