LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Quarterback Danny Embick threw for three touchdowns and scored one himself on a 3-yard run to lead Florida Atlantic to a 28-10 win over Louisiana-Lafayette Thursday night.

At the half, Louisiana-Lafayette (1-4) led 10-7 but then the Owls' persistent offensive attack finally broke through. A nine-play, 77-yard drive spanning the third and fourth quarters resulted in a 27-yard touchdown pass from Embick to Darrion Porter-Isom to give FAU their first lead, 14-10, with 14:49 to play in the final quarter.

Embick then found Thomas Parker on a 19-yard scoring pass to complete a 58-yard drive and give the Owls their third touchdown.

After a quick start that saw Louisiana-Lafayette score on the game's opening possession, the Cajuns' offense disappeared. They garnered 105 yards of total offense in the first quarter, then struggled to just 69 yards in the second and third quarters combined. Both teams went scoreless in the second and third quarters, but two touchdowns by FAU (1-5) in a 3:44 span of the fourth quarter spelled trouble for the Cajuns.

Louisiana-Lafayette's Tyrell Fenroy scored his second rushing touchdown of the season, a 1-yard plunge to give the Cajuns a quick 7-0 lead. He also picked up 26 yards on five carries and quarterback Michael Desormeaux added two runs for 41 yards.
