A 3-0 win over Gardner-Webb University pushed Florida Atlantic University's home win streak to nine as the team improved to 19-2, 3-0 A-Sun. FAU held the Lady Bulldogs to a .123 hitting percentage, while collecting 50 kills.
FAU gained the early momentum in the match as GWU spotted the Owls a 6-0 lead in game one with Katie Arvidson serving. During the streak, Kelly Paiva put down three of her match-high 17 kills. FAU never trailed in the game and held the Lady Bulldogs to a .050 hitting percentage.
Gardner-Webb (9-18, 0-5 A-Sun) bounced back for game two and took a 9-5 lead. The two teams traded points before Makra Condill spearheaded a nine point FAU run to take a 25-20 lead. Bethany Martin ended the spurt with one of her team-high 10 kills after a GWU timeout. FAU's lead was too much as a GWU blocking error gave the Owls the 2-0 advantage.
Game three was the best offensive game for Gardner-Webb with a .216 hitting percentage. Ashley Pridgeon tallied five of her 10 kills in the game. Pridgeon also added a match-high 13 digs for the double-double.
