Carmen Cali Called Up by the St. Louis Cardinals

Carmen Cali made the most of his move to the Memphis Redbirds, the AAA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The former Florida Atlantic University pitcher spent about six weeks with the team before being called up by the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday. The left-hander will be on the active roster on Friday as the Redbirds face the Los Angeles Dodgers in St. Louis. Since moving up to AAA on July 22, Cali pitched 20 innings and posted 20 strikeouts, three saves and a 2.70 ERA to gain the attention of the major league club.
