Jeff Fiorentino picked up Honorable Mention All-America honors this week from CollegeBaseballInsider.com. The junior hit .348 with 17 home runs and 66 RBI, while playing three positions for Florida Atlantic University.
A native of Hollywood, FL, Fiorentino was highly regarded entering the 2004 season as he was named Atlantic Sun Preseason Player-of-the-Year and earned All-America recognition from Collegiate Baseball, NCBWA and CollegeBaseballInsdier.com.
He finished the year leading the A-Sun in home runs and runs scored while trailing UCF's Dee Brown by two RBI.
Drafted earlier this month by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round, he will forgo his senior season to play professionally. He leaves his mark in the FAU record books with 44 home runs (2nd), 204 runs scored (2nd), 229 hits (5th) and 168 RBI (5th).
