Macon, GA - David Demers and Mauricio Paiz recorded singles wins, but it wasn't enough as no. 3 seed Florida Atlantic University was upset, 4-2, by seventh-seeded Campbell University, Friday, at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Demers and Paiz gave the Owls a brief, 2-1, lead, but the Camels won the next three singles matches to eliminate FAU from the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament. The loss drops FAU to 14-6 on the year.
Demers won his match at no. 4, 6-3, 6-1. The sophomore won both his matches in the A-Sun Tournament.
Paiz won his match, 6-3, 6-2, at no. 6.
FAU will wrap up its season against American, 2:00 pm April 21, in Boca Raton, FL.
