Hello FAU Supporters,
FAU's Committed Athletes. Positive Culture. High Standards--just a few of the phrases describing the atmosphere around FAU athletics these days. It's not created easily, but if Mike Allen's positive vision becomes permanent, it will be the vibe our OWL athletes give off always. He's excited about their progress, their everyday accomplishments, and their commitment to excellence.
What's the "buzz" that has everyone talking about our teams, and how does Mike Allen help to make that happen?
He might not admit to this, but Mike Allen could be labeled as FAU's athletes `life coach'. As his job title entails, he is responsible for helping student athletes excel academically and socially while helping them successfully graduate with as much potential for success as possible. Mike says, "I was attracted to FAU's athletic program initially because FAU had so much going for the student athletes. I now believe their potential for success is tremendous. Over 40% of our athletes maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher!"
With practices, games, meetings, and most importantly, classes, it is not an easy feat to keep a healthy perspective on what is important. Mike works daily to help our student athletes do just that! "When our student athletes leave their classrooms, fields and courts, I know they will have an upper hand in their pursuit for success and happiness," says Mike. "That is my goal for each one of them."
