BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University women's basketball head coach Chancellor Dugan has announced the signing of Susan Beauzil to a National Letter of Intent to attend FAU and play basketball beginning in 2005-06. Beauzil is the second future Lady Owl to sign during the early period.
Beauzil is a 5-11 guard/forward from Ft. Lauderdale. She currently is a senior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School where she averaged nine points and six rebounds per game as a junior.
"She can play the one, two, or three for us and is a great shooter," said Dugan. "Because of her high school coach, she is a fundamentally sound player, and we look forward to her making an immediate impact on our team next year."
"Susan is a great kid and a great student-athlete," said Arthur Lobbe, her high school coach. "FAU is getting a real quality person. I think she's just scratching the surface of her potential."
Beauzil joins Breana Cox, a 6-2 center/forward from Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach, FL, as part of FAU's early signing class.
Florida Atlantic begins its season Friday night at Middle Tennessee. The road trip concludes Sunday at Tennessee Tech. The Lady Owls will then host the FAU Thanksgiving Classic November 26-27 at FAU Gymnasium featuring Youngstown State, James Madison, and Morehead State.
